Democratic Classroom Leadership
FCL equips educators with a research-based K-12 educational model that builds student-centered learning communities. Educators shift their role from a giver of knowledge to a facilitator of a learning community, cultivating schools where students share responsibility for learning by creating a culture of belonging, agency, and accountability. Students develop durable skills (i.e., collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, and leadership) to thrive in school, work, and civic life.
Through professional learning, coaching, and implementation support, FCL enables educators to cultivate a culture where every student is given agency and ownership over their learning environment through Democratic Classroom Leadership, or DCL. DCL is democratic in the original sense of shared governance, not the political party. It is a learning environment structure where leadership is distributed, not held by one educator. It braids together disciplines including equity, behavior management, restorative justice, language access, and culturally responsive teaching into one holistic solution.
Our executive coaching programming is holistic and transformative. Our work frees leaders and their organizations from restraints on their thinking and actions, releasing the creative energy of their people to adapt, grow, influence, optimize efficiency, and to lead both effectively and courageously.
FCL offers an empowering space for educators and community members in the Seattle area to connect and develop key leadership skills.
Our community groups are designed for parents, educators, organizations, and children, providing a platform for shared learning and growth.
FCL offers an 8-week book group based series based on the foundational book, Children: The Challenge, by Rudolf Dreikurs.

What they're saying
“Full Circle Leadership has been transformative for our district, Evanston Township High School. This training and approach to education provides a framework to humanize students, give them ownership over their learning and empower teachers to lean into best practices. The training in the framework is applicable for new, veteran, and mid-year teachers. An overwhelming number of teachers have stated that after many years of teaching, Full Circle Leadership reinvigorated their passion for teaching in ways that they could have never imagined. We were very fortunate to take over 100 teachers through such an impactful program.”
